Tuesday 31 March

16.30 – 17.00              Opening ceremony. (Salón de Grados).

17.00 – 18.00              Plenary 1: Dr. Nick Groom, University of Exeter. The Gothic, the Nation, and the Inklings. (Salón de Grados).

           

18.00 – 18.30              Coffee break.

18.30 – 19.15             Presentation and screening of the short film “El Bosque Negro” by director Paúl Urquijo. (Salón de Grados).

19.30 – 20.30             Conversations with authors at the Campus bookshop. Snacks for all who come.

Wednesday 1 April

09.30 – 10.30              Plenary 2: Dr. Eduardo Segura, Universidad de Granada. Tolkien y la filología: la palabra subcreadora como patria y fuente de potestad. (Salón de Grados).

10.30 – 11.30              Plenary 3: Dr. Thomas Honegger, Friedrich-Schiller Universität Jena. Tolkien and the Matter of England. (Salón de Grados).

11.30 – 12.00              Coffee break.

12.00 – 13.30             Round Table: The Inklings and National discourse. Dr. Nick Groom, Dr. Thomas Honegger. (Salón de Grados).

13.30 – 15.30             Lunch.

15.30 – 16.30             Panel.

16.30 – 17.00             Coffee break.

17.00 – 18.00             Plenary 4: Dr. Miguel Ayerbe, Universidad del País Vasco / Euskal Herriko Unibersitatea. Los Cuentos de los hermanos Grimm: salvar la identidad nacional a través de la literatura oral popular. (Salón de Grados).

18.00 – 18.30          Concluding discussion and closure.

19.30                          Guided tour: the Gothic city centre of Vitoria.

21.30                          Conference dinner.
